To get myself back on track after the holiday, I like to help my body detox with green tea. It’s loaded with antioxidants and helps the body to stabilize blood sugar, which reduces those continued cravings for sugar and carbohydrates. Green tea increases your body's fat burning potential as it can boost the metabolic rate in the short term. It mobilizes fatty acids from the fat tissues making them available for use as energy, improves mood, reaction time and memory. Several studies show that green tea can also kill bacteria and inhibit viruses like influenza. It can also potentially lower your risk of infections and have a positive impact on overall dental health and reduce bad breath. There is less caffeine in green tea than coffee so you won't get that jittery feeling. So grab some green tea this afternoon, with a book and take a mind body break!
